Hi Isabella, My name is Joe Novak and I am a graduate student in Kean University's Speech/Language Pathology program. I found your paper very interesting - the ten EI abilities are useful not only for PWS, but many other types of clients who have a less-than-positive view of their disorder (i.e. TBI). I was curious - do you think that the best prescription for an SLP's coursework would actually be a Bachelor's degree in psychology? I have found in my coursework that SLP is very much on the border of psychotherapy, especially with PWS, and it seems as though a thorough knowledge of psychology would be useful for anyone in this field. I have a B.A. in Psychology and have found that, although I was forced to learn a lot of "speech" in a short time, I am very comfortable with clients because of a background that is suited to a counseling model. Would you advocate this sort of educational sequence or perhaps just more concentration on counseling and behavior mod in undergrad and grad programs? Thanks for your time and your wonderful article! - Joe
