Hi Jennifer, Thanks for your kind words. Indeed the messages you highlighted were among those I intended. You are asking an interesting question. Honestly, I have not found resistance from people who stutter or their families to the notion that we are more similar than we are different. What I have found is that some people do not yet feel equal to others because of the challenges they encounter. We cannot tell them otherwise. What we can do is create for them a series of opportunities in which they experience success for themselves. Those successes form the beginning of a new foundation, upon which they will begin to consider an alternative interpretation of communication and the world and their respective roles within both.
