Hi Emily, Indeed I hope to have a positive impact whenever possible and in whatever ways possible. None of us ever knows to what degree we succeed. So thank you for your very kind and generous comments. The decision to forge an alternative course occurred at a critical moment, yet the strategy to live that course is ongoing. The opportunity to work with clients so they too can choose to change the way things have always been is a privilege that I have never taken for granted, now for 31 years. The client’s expression of hope is an expression of faith; ours is a terrific responsibility. In the last few postings, I have responded regarding how I work toward such changes. I do this by creating for the clients diverse opportunities for them to succeed; nothing is more motivating and affirming than success experienced directly. Take a look at my responses and feel free to follow up with me for clarification. Also, I have articulated my methods in Stuttering Intervention: A Collaborative Journey to Fluency Freedom (PRO-ED). Thank you again. I am glad that you are with us. David Shapiro
