Hi Joseph, Thank you for your thoughts. To me, the most real and wonderful thing about life is that we continue to have choices, although some choices seem more easily accessed than others. You are asking a very complex question. Part of being real is realizing that coping with stuttering and implementing changes indeed are challenging tasks. Another part of being real is finding assistance to lead oneself out of the darkness and realizing that we mustn’t do it alone. I am reminded of, ‘Boyoo dze kiwo-oh kimo-on kikur kifah’ (“One hand cannot tie a bundle,” translated from the Lamnso dialect, one of 250 spoken in Cameroon.). All of us need assistance. Surely the load is lightened by virtue of being shared. Please know of my admiration for the fine work you are doing with the self-help movement in Uganda and throughout Africa. You have my respect. It was my pleasure to meet you at the 1st African Stuttering Congress in Douala, Cameroon in October 2005. I would be so pleased to continue to interact with you and, perhaps one day, to collaborate with you. Warm regards, David
