Hi Christina, Thank you for your words and your thoughts. Indeed being real is knowing that we always have choices. There is sun in all of us; when we let it shine through, it is so beautiful. I remember discovering the positive impact of communication on releasing one’s sunshine. The context I am thinking of has nothing to do with stuttering; it has to do with photography. None of us likes to have our picture made. Well, I used to do studio photography. People of all ages would come and sit reluctantly for the appointment. I discovered that engaging in communication, a genuine dialogue with another person, releases tensions and reveals natural expressions. When I captured the moment of a natural expression on film, the results were astonishing to those whose photos were being made. Looking at the portraits, people said things like, “That can’t be me.” Indeed it was, albeit from a perspective they hadn’t considered – beautiful. Your comments remind me of the lessons my grandmother shared, that we learn and grow not only when we are young, but for always. Thank you for shining through and for your grace. David Shapiro
