Hi Stefan, Thank you for your thoughts and thank goodness for your “coming out.” Few people have done more to advance the cause of international communication and thereby global understanding than you. At first glance, the message is about stuttering. However, as you and others have indicated, at an amazing moment, the message becomes a medium for a larger message, one of empowerment, realizing individual and shared potential, and understanding and valuing the complexity and elegance of the human condition. For these reasons, I believe that the way we approach stuttering around the world sets an example for others to follow, with a lesson that is so powerful – When we focus on a common interest or shared concern, there is nothing we cannot accomplish together. In fact, then we realize that our differences are to be nurtured and celebrated. May we always be open to learning and growing together. Congratulations to you on all of your real successes and for advancing the cause. As a dad, husband, person who stutters, speech-language pathologist, and person who, like you, strives on a daily basis to remain real, I applaud you. I too look forward to our ongoing dialogue and friendship. Warm regards, David
