Hi Jenny, You too have written from your heart. Indeed some of the simplest or most basic lessons are the hardest to discover. I am reminded of Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz who had to discover that what was most meaningful was to be found in her home and in her own back yard. Why is it so hard for those of us who have struggled with communication to realize that speaking freely is not a lucky privilege to be enjoyed by a few, but a freedom that represents the birthright of each person on this planet? With every ounce of my being, I wish for everyone to experience communication freedom, whether the speech is fluent or not. You make so much sense. Those of us who have had to work so hard to communicate and to learn that speaking in our own words not only is important, but essential, might set an example if not present a lesson for others – Few freedoms are to be worked toward more fully and cherished more dearly than that of communication. I am convinced that how we approach the task and the related challenges we face in order to remain real defines us more than the fluency of our words. Also, I am convinced that the key to our future, one of peace both individually and globally, is to be found in communication. So be real and speak your words. Thank you for your sharing and for your inspiration. David
