(My bad on the previous empty post...) Lynne - Excellent paper. Luterman is the absolute on the subject in my book. I often think of David saying "Real Listening Does not allow for the listener to evaluate how the message is said...only to evaluate the message" Real listening, I believe, contradicts the message being sent by current therapy trends in working with children who stutter. Listening is half of the communication process, and very little - if any - training goes into this aspect of being a competent therapist in working with CWS and their families. And again, this is just my view...
