Hi! I am a Communication Disorders graduate student at Minnesota State University, Mankato. I never thought of listening as a therapy technique, but it makes complete sense. I think good therapists do this without even thinking about it being a technique. I am in my school internship and reading your article helped me realize that listening truly is an integral part of therapy. My supervisor is a wonderful woman who incorporates listening into therapy sessions, which I have been modeling. Unaware as I think I certainly was of this technique, but using it daily in sessions, I have seen good progress and willingness to participate on the part of the client. Thank you for your insight; I enjoyed reading your article! Sincerely, Evan Panitzke
