I agree that is important to really listen to your clients. I'm a first year graduate student and with my first client I've already learned that when you listen to clients, show them empathy and kindness, and do things they like and are successful in it really helps to motivate them. When you are work with adults and teens who stutter, you can sit down with them and discuss therapy goals. They usually have an idea of what they want to get out of therapy. But what would you suggest for young children who are in therapy for the first time and aren't sure what they really want out of therapy? How would you set goals and motivate them?
