Yaakov, Yes, sometimes clients are not sure of what they want. Talking about all different aspects of stuttering, speech, communication, what they like or dislike, and so forth, can help them figure that out. Or, sometimes, trying out some therapy techniques may help them see how they fit and the therapist and client can explore together how these might be useful to the client. Therapy is a process of figuring out what to do and how to do it. New goals come up after previous goals are met. There is no real need to figure it all out at the beginning. I guess anyone would like that to be the case, but life generally isn't quite so neatly figured out, is it? Best wishes to you, Lynne
