Dr. Silverman, thank you for sharing your experiences and ideas within this captivating article, I really enjoyed it! I certainly agree with you that our lives are predictable and if we are unsure of change, we revert to what we know. Yet our lives are in constant flux and we really do have to prepare ourselves and “create conditions” for change to occur. Also, I had never really considered how children and their far reaching conclusions and interpretations could affect therapy. Those ideas are something I will definitely take with me in future practice, especially when encountering young fluency clients and their incredible little minds.
