Hello, I am an SLP student currently taking a fluency disorders class. I found your paper to be very powerful. At the start of your paper, you wrote about children who might not know that they needed to change, but their parents did. Later, you quoted Vin Diesel stating, "Before we ask children to change, Let us be sure to first teach themselves to love themselves for who they are". I was wondering as an SLP, do you often encounter parents who want their children to change, but children who do already love themselves for who they are, and are not interested in experiencing change in their speech? If so, how do you approach such a situation? Thank you.
