I found your paper really insightful. I used to work with a young boy with autism who engaged in lots of echolalia, some of which could have been misunderstood as whole word repetitions, so it was interesting to me that you addressed this issue. I was also curious how self awareness plays a role in giving fluency therapy to children with autism. The child I worked with didn’t seem to have a strong grasp on right and wrong, so if he were a stutterer how would he learn not to be? I understand it might not be a high priority in his case, but would appreciate your insight nonetheless.
