Dear Deann, It's clearly an individual thing; it is impossible to generalize about all clients. As mentioned in the PowerPoint, most people enjoyed the groups and enjoyed the contacts with other stutterers. Several stutterers have found the group more helpful in their own journeys than individual therapy. In some cases, clients do not consistently practice in the group the fluency skills that are being emphasized in individual therapy. Transfer from the clinic room to outside situations is always a challenge, and this is but one example. We probably are not as demanding in the group as we might be in such cases, because group members reflect the entire range of experience from beginners to veterans. I hope this helps. Ken
