Patients begin the theatre laboratory after a period in individual therapy, in which logopedists and other specialists involved work together with the patient, to reach a good pneumo- and phono-articolatory coordination and, at the same time, they help him to focus on the whole person, on unexpressed capabilities, on their chances to show themselves in a better and more complete way, rather than on the symptom. Group activities and theatre laboratory can thus help patients strengthen their personalities, acquire or improve self-esteem and consequently improve their quality of life, too. Outcomes are reached in 12-15 months.
