This paper was extremely interesting. It is noteworthy to consider how being both, a perfectionist and a Person who Stutters (PWS) can affect that person’s expectations, attitudes, and feelings about their disfluent speech. I can only imagine how difficult it must be for a PWS to constantly feel additional fears and avoidances due to their high expectations about speaking fluently. I do not know much about Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but I would be interested in learning more after reading this paper. Thank you for contributing.
