Xavier Thank you for asking a good question that will help to clarify our article. When a person uses the cognitive distortion of mind reading, that means that they think that they know what someone else is thinking, even though we know that it is impossible to really ever know what anyone else is thinking. An example of mind reading for a person who stutters might be thinking that a listener had a negative impression because of the stuttering when in fact the listener may not have been thinking that at all.
