I truly enjoyed reading this presentation of research. I was once told early on in my clinical experience that the reason one of my students was a CWS was because his mother expected so much from him. I believed him to be a perfectionist in pleasing his mother, it was not necessarily for himself. I consider myself a perfectionist, this part of my personality did not come to the surface until I was in college. This article has me wondering if my perfectionism came to the surface earlier in life, could I have been a PWS? My question is have any of the participants in the study stopped CBT, and if so have they continued to have self-defeating thoughts brought on by perfectionism? Is there a tendency to relapse without therapy?
