Do you think that it is possible that stuttering is the cause of perfectionist behaviors? I’m just thinking from personal experience, for example, when something goes terribly wrong in my life or when a certain aspect of my life seems uncontrollable I need everything else to be in line to make me feel better. Could it be possible that an individual who stutters feels that since they don’t have control over their stuttering or since their speech isn't perfect, they feel the need to be able to control everything else and for everything else to be perfect? I was wondering if any participant has claimed that they never used to be a perfectionist until they started stuttering?
