I found this article very interesting. I believe that even if the client isn’t a perfectionist it is important to address their feeling and thought about stuttering. I liked the idea of having the clients keep tract of their feeling and thought in speaking situations as well as different ways they could think about the situation. Having the clients identify situations and places that are more difficult and then thinking about the positives helps the client become comfortable with their talking. I found it interesting that the clients at the follow-up noted a continuous decrease in perfectionist thoughts and that they were more spontaneous in their speech. I believe that this is one of the most important piece of fluency treatment is that the client is more excepting of their speech.
