Good job, Susan! You live up to your title! You discuss some very down-to-earth, nuts and bolts issues of service delivery in addition to the more complex problems of clients' emotionality (especially anxiety), expectations and resistance. All clinicians whether experienced or neophyte would profit from a careful reading of your article. It could be condensed and made into a handy check list to be used before beginning work with a client, just as an airline pilot has a checklist that he uses before takeoff. It helps prevent crashes, just as the clinician may prevent herself from commiting a sin of omission or commission. (I'd better stop here before my similes get out of hand.)
