This was an extremely enlightening article! I am a current graduate student, and one client that I am working with wishes to be fluent all the time, yet does not want to sound unnatural when she is speaking. As a clinician this of course makes the situation very challenging. The client is in her third semester of treatment, and I read in your article that "clinicians should keep focus on ensuring that they target natural-sounding fluent speech as early as possible." Since this particular client has been attending therapy for so long, and previously working with other clinicians, do you think it's too late to target these natural sounds of fluent speech? In addition, I wanted to know if relapses were common?
