As a student clinician all information on how to provide effective therapy is vital. As the profession grows we as professionals must grow with it as well. All children and adults are different; the way they learn and respond to treatment is also diverse. The presenter did an excellent job by offering valuable information about how the clinician should target certain areas to be more effective with the person who stutters. The author used the words “fall short,” and as clinicians it’s our professional duty to ensure we are providing services that are accurate, effective, and tailored to the client. I appreciate this reading as a future speech language pathologist, this is information that I can and will utilize with all future clients.
