I'm a stutterer who has experienced moderate, fluctuating success with 'smooth speech' techniques. However I've read criticisms that indicate that current evidence for these treatments is not particularly strong, for example the contributions to this thread by Mark Irwin and Tom Weidig. I can only speak for myself but I'm sure others are following this exchange and would be interested in a response, or alternatively if you could point us in the direction of already existing material that answers these concerns. Not responding, or preferring to discuss questions privately over email, rightly or wrongly serves to make the criticisms seem more valid.
