Thank you - a very good question and it certainly depends on where you live! It is not unreasonable, depending on why someone might want a different clinican, to ask the person they are consulting for a recommendation. Some people want to see a man or a woman, some people want to see someone with a lot of experience and some people want to see someone with a different focus. I think that self-help groups can also be useful sources of information about those working with people who stutter.
