Hello Susan! I am a first semester graduate student in Albany, NY and I really enjoyed reading your article. I thought it broke down some of the issues of fluency therapy really well in looking at the viewpoints of both the clinician and the client. My question to you relates to the idea of seeking out the advice or treatment of another clinician. As an SLP, how would you recommend handling a situation where a client comes to you in order to tell you that they would like a new clinician? Is it okay to "fight" that decision and try to work out the kinks of your relationship, or should you let them go? Still very new to everything, I feel as though I would have a very difficult time not looking at such a situation as a failure. Do you think that most often it is a situation where two people don't work well together or that one side is not doing their share of the work? Thank you so much! -Tina
