I found this article to be very helpful and informing. The article reiterated the fact that there are many different treatments that can be used on a variety of different people. More severe cases need more treatment, with more time spent in therapy; while others, are just looking to become more fluent. As an undergraduate student I am looking forward to the road ahead in this field. This article helped to continue the excitement but also remind me that the job can be challenging. I understand that as a clinician it is very important to be flexible with clients. Not all clients will be able grasp the form of treatment the clinician wants to use and it might need to be altered for that particular person. I now understand that although the client has come to you for treatment they also have so many more areas to find more information, which is something that the clinician must be aware of. I had never really taken the internet into consideration, but now it makes sense as to why the clinician must also know what is out on the internet so they can explain to the client what is fact and fiction. I found this article very helpful when it comes to clinicians and how to go about treatment for particular clients. All clients are different which means no two forms of treatment will be identical.
