Well Jenny, if your model is slow and even (monotone?) then it probably does sound unnatural and nothing will convince your client otherwise. I often model a slow rate and then over the space of a minute or so, I increase the speed gradually, whilst maintaining the features of the pattern. That way they can hear what they are trying to do and they can hear how it becomes more natural as it is sped up. However, if they do not like the model, they probably won't adopt it.
