The emphasis on the client's goals and expectations discussed in this article remind me of dealing with stroke victims who suffer from aphasia. The best outcome is reached when the SLP and the client are on the same page and have an understanding of the multifacited motivation for therapy. I think this is an important consideration when working with any adolecent or adult client.
