Hi Diana and thanks for a great question. I don't know if I would say that the positive aspects out weight the negative ones, but positive thinking and having a laugh at it all helps me to find a balance and to try and see the positive sides to find the strength to face the negative moments. Because there are still so many days when people do or say things that puts me back, or days of fluency set backs, and you need a healthy dose of positive thinking to get up again with your chin up and a smile on your face. I think it's different for those of us who have not overcome our stutter to see the gift of that, than other people writing about this topic, who don't stutter anymore, as they stopped facing those daily barriers. That's why it's so important to share our positive stories. To see and compliment on those things we are good at. To see what stuttering has given us: patience, strength, understanding, toughness, fighting spirit, qualities (as we need to be even better than the rest) etc. To see stuttering as something I DO instead of something I AM. And to see the bigger picture: stuttering is only a part of us. There is so much more that is worth focusing on and being proud of. Don't waste time on stuttering. Life has too much to offer. Your question shows you're goint to be an assett to the stuttering community and I thank you for that in advance! Anita
