The genesis of reference to the bucket analogy actually ia a wonderful paper by David Crystal published in 1987, "Towards a 'bucket' theory of language disability: Taking account of interaction between language levels" that appeared in Clinical Linguistics and Phonetics, 1(1), 7-22. I used it as a key reference in a paper I published in Topics in Language Disorders in 1995, "Conversational demands and their effects on fluency and stuttering." It's a useful reference because the author makes use of an interaction perspective useful for explaining why/when stuttering may occur. You might want to consider this in your reference list.
