I love the idea of "Bring a Friend to Speech Day." I am currently a grad student and while doing my undergraduate student teaching, we allowed one of our students to bring a friend to speech once a week. (He was seen 3X a week.) He had a diagnosis of Asperger's Syndrome and the peer was there to facilitate social interactions. I had not thought about using this sort of technique with other children, such as children who stutter. My question is, how old are the children you are doing this with? Is there a certain age when peers stop being interested in "coming to speech" and/or the child who stutters feels uncomfortable sharing or teaching about stuttering?
