I have very strict rules about who can be invited...1. No one who gets their name on the board for breaking the rules of their classroom could be invited.(We were on a system-wide Assertive Discipline program. -Cantor)That was for my benefit as well as the children's...I didn't want to spend valuable time disciplining or dealing with distractions. 2. No one could be invited, who is "Not kind." That is a great way to open discussion about children who tease or make fun of my kids who stutter...and I expand that to discussing making fun of people who a "different."
