There is no set time...the activity can occur throughout the year. But, we do conduct a similar, although more extravagant, activity during May is Better Hearing & Speech Month. Each child may bring one guest to his/her group's speech party. The kids in tx build up to this event throughout the month of May...making invitations, decorating the speech room, and practicing what they plan to share with their friends. Parents send food & drinks for the groups. Kids in tx have an opportunity to practice development of the feeling of fluency control during a semi-structured social situation and have a chance to share what they've learned in speech. It's become the social event of the school year!
