It's so important to remember that stuttering syndromes are multidimensional, and the SLP must work on the affective, behavioral, and cognitive components (ABCs)to be effective. The attitudes and feelings the child holds about his/her stuttering impact academic and social skills. So, anything we can do to improve self-esteem and eliminate misperceptions is intrinsic to therapy best practices. Best wishes in your future career.
