Pam; I don't see any problem in approaching the SLP. As a therapist, I have seen the power of having my student s meet adults who stutter through the National Stuttering Association. They get to hear from someone who has already "made it through" the school experience and continue to posess a positive message of hope and empowerment! They get so much more from that experience than I could ever give them by myself. You never know how another professional will take the offer, but it is worth asking!
