This article is very insightful. I really like how you refer to the "thinking clinician" framework of therapy. As a Grad student, the hardest part of giving therapy is being flexible and straying from the outlined lesson plan. It's important to alter an activity or objective to fit the specific child's needs. This leads me to a question: When training the SLP's in the district to give services to those who stutter, did you find they were more resistent to try new techniques? In my experiences, SLP's tend to be fearful of trying new therapy tools with these caseloads and stick with easy-onset. And, where do you learn more about therapy techniques to treat children who stutter? Can you recommend any books or webpages. Thank you! - Jessica Atwood (NYU Grad Student)
