I thoroughly enjoyed this article and found it to be very interesting! As a first semester graduate student, taking a class on stuttering, I have yet to work with people or children who stutter. However, I will be working within the New York City public school system upon my graduation. I found that the framework for this model, hiring a fluency specialist among school districts, to be extrememly useful. My questions are: How would you handle a district that resists this framework? What would you suggest on proposing this model further? Many inner-city schools tend to have lower budjets and less money to spend. If these particular districts can not hire a fluency specialist, and they have a high population of CWS; how can you persuade these schools? Especially if the current SLPs in the district do not feel fully equipped to work with CWS.
