Stephanie; I have to make a few assumptions to answer your questions, so please forgive me if I make the wrong ones :) First of all, as a private practicioner as well as a public school therpist, I DO beleive that consultation can be effective. However, since I don't beleive in "programs" for children who stutter, I don't think there is an issue of "whose is better...etc". I have found that as long as both clinicians are willing to work together and give and take a bit for the best interest of the child, all can be well. However, if the two approaches are at odds with one another, then it is best for the child and parent to decide the best approach for the child and that one therapist can procede. I hope I have helped. Nina Reeves
