Ryan, You reported that by providing a more "detached perspective" the SLP was able to challenge you to consider alternatives and make change. This skill really has nothing to do with whether or not they were a PWS but it is a skill that any good SLP must possess. Unfortunately, many SLPs, both fluent and disfluent, lack the flexibility to consider alternatives or to try something different. Now if we could just get someone to address your non-speech related warped views!
