Thanks to both Joes for exploring this eternal issues so eloquently. For a parent to wonder how a therapist can "cure" her/his child's stutter if you haven't been able to "cure" your own is an important part of this issue. It is about educating the consumer/parent, and the therapeutic relationship. As Vivian Sisskin wrote, it is important to note what life experinces the non-stuttering therapist has had. Thank you.
