Hi Carolyn, thanks for your question. I think there are actually lots of slps who don't think pws should work with other pws stutter... if you haven't cured yourself, how can you help someone else. I think it has more to do with the lower incidence of the disorder and that many slps seem to think there is some mystical quality to stuttering. I like what Walt Manning says: you need to take the stuttering out on the worktable and have at it. It really is that simple. Take care, Joe.
