The title itself got my attention and I loved it. I think that one does not need to be a stutter in order to feel empathy for their clients who stutter. However, if a clinician went through the same problems, anxiety and frustrations as a stutter, I think that the client and the clinician would develop mutual respect and build up a strong bond. Based on those special and unique bonds, therapy will be valuable and effective.
