Melanie, Instead of trying to push a fluency client forward, it may be more helpful to meet them where they are. Then you can develop a plan together for what they want from therapy. I typically challenge clients by keeping them accountable for the goals that they set and helping them to realistically track progress. In this way, they can make adjustments accordingly and continue in the process.
