Hi Beth, Thank you for your question. I think it is always best to address stuttering, even if in a very casual way. Telling your client that it is "OK to stutter or have bumps" in his speech is a win/win situation especially if your client exhibits secondary behaviors. You want to prevent more shame of stuttering. Development or enhancement of shame results in more stuttering because of the increase of avoidance behaviors. All the best to you in your career. Judith
