Hello, Downs Children have reduced cognition skills and consequently they are slower to produce verbal language. Normal developing children usually start to stutter around ages 2-3-5 years when they are starting to produced two & three word sentences. You can see and hear stuttering at this level of language development in both populations. It is possible to do a diagnostic evaluation. Thank you. Judith
