Hello, A lot of Downs Children who stutter remain children who stutter. They have high risk factors including reduced oral-motor coordination, language formulation/word finding difficulties, ear infections/allergies, and sensory integration issues. For any child or adult who stutters, your goal is functional communication in everyday life with some stuttering. With Downs Children, I do SHAME BUSTING, slowing rate of speech with phrasing and pausing, building vocabulary, and trying to reduce excitement level (OT fuction). Thank you. Judith
