Interesting article. It is helpful to understand who has done what with stuttering research and treatment in the past, and where it is going. I liked the previous poster's (Ed Feuer) comments about a multi-disciplinary approach. I work in a school, and see how it would be helpful for the speech teacher to communicate with the counselor and social worker and nurse and parents, all at the same time and tie it all together, instead of people keeping separate records and progress notes. Also, the program where I attend group and individual therapy focuses on a synergistic approach (Bloom & Cooperman), where attitudes and feelings, and counseling, is just as important as actual work on speech mechanics. I think that, and self-help, is what has helped me most. --Pam
