You say: "The repeated failures in the treatment of stuttering over the years might not always be failures for everybody. And we do not have a treatment approach which will be successful for everybody." I say, there is an approach that has never been tried: the coordinated multidisciplinary team approach bringing SLPs and relevant experts from outside speech-language pathology working with stuttering clients. You say: "As you can see right now, we have also repeated failures in many other aspects of life, e.g. financing!" I say: OK, using your analogy look at the financial crisis, see how the G-7 governments and their central banks are working TOGETHER to help solve the problem. It's time to end the bankrupt Lone Ranger, sole practioner folly in the treatment of stuttering. It's time to end the jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none in the phoney illusion of the sole practioner so-called "eclectic approach." I say to SLPs: There is a better way. -- edfeuer@mts.net
